We have Gray and White Silkies (2 of each, hoping to have a hen of each color), 3 Cochins pullets (white, blue and partridge), 2 Red Shoulder Yokohamas (I ordered one, but the other came in the Rare Breed Special), 1 Buff Chantecler (another Rare Breed Special - I am not sure if we will keep her, it is not a breed I would have chosen on my own), the Cornish roo I ordered (I wanted a red-laced, but they were out so we ended up with a dark cornish instead) and the last Rare Breed Special they put in is supposed to be an Indian Red Jungle Fowl... Jungle Fowl?
Hmmm, I tried to look it up on the Ideal Poulty website, but couldn't find it listed as one of the breeds they sold. I will be giving them a call in a few days to see if I can solve the mystery! We also received the replacement Black Australorp pullet that didn't make it out of our first batch.
And the turkey poult is doing well! Already a week old and we have them moved into the little chicken run with the crate. The Momma Hen kept her tucked in the back of the run under the shade of the plum bush growing there, this was the best picture I could get.
