This property may not be everything we dreamed of... but it is becoming Home.
Winter finally happened at our new property - much to the children's delight! They got to go out a few times and have fun in the snow - we have lots of hills so I am sure they will be able to find the perfect sledding one over the next few years! For now, they just used the upper drive-way. It went much better once I had driven down and made some tracks for the sled. The beef calves do not seem to mind the weather - they have all turned into fuzzies LOL. They almost look like Highland crosses they have so much hair. We do not have a barn (yet!), so my husband created some make-shift feeding shelters for the goats. They have a shed down in the lower field but refuse to use it. The calves will go in once and a while, but even if we lure the goats in with hay or grain, they will not stay in there - even during blizzard conditions. I love sitting at the big picture window in the dining room and watching the snow fall. I look out over the hills and sense of calm and peace fill my soul and my heart.
